Looking into ways to set up Windows XP on a different disk partition and pick the boot option. You’ll likely need tools like DiskPart or GParted for this task. Let me know if you want more details!

What makes sense for you is understanding why you're interested in installing Windows XP, even though it might not work with your current equipment.

XP means love. XP represents life. Perhaps it's about running an older program.

Unless it's a specially built program just for XP, I think they wouldn't face any issues running it on 7 or 8.

No, I'm here to help with that. Would you like guidance on setting up a virtual machine or dual boot setup?

He aims for dual booting yet might prefer a virtual machine instead.

I'm setting up a dual boot configuration. I require Windows XP for games that don't work on Windows 8.1. Given my PC's performance, I'm worried the VM might not run them smoothly.

VM doesn’t allow D3D speed boosts, meaning you won’t be able to run games smoothly on a VM stick with XP. If you can still play on that system, switching to another OS might make a big difference.

You're facing compatibility issues because some games don't work on XP or 32-bit systems. It might not be possible to run them, but you can explore alternatives like emulators or different platforms.
