I just purchased an iMac 5,2 and am curious about installing Windows. Would Windows 7 be compatible with it?

The article discusses Apple's Core 2 Duo with a 17-inch display. It mentions issues with Boot Camp and suggests adding more RAM if needed. It also advises moving the hard drive to another machine for installation, noting that working around Boot Camp can be challenging and that Mac OS support has ended. The user shares a personal experience using a 2007 MacBook with this setup.

Also, securing around 3 gigabytes of RAM will make it run smoothly on Windows 10 (some adjustments may be needed, but it should function).

Consider installing Windows 10, which may require waiting several months for updates from Apple to release new drivers. Performance could be affected. Windows 7 is available, but security patches won't address the current Service Pack problems since no more updates will be issued for it. Your decision is yours.
