Tbh, if you're using an extremely old PC, a Linux distro might be a better choice.
If you had sufficient RAM it would crash when encountering an instruction set it lacked. Athlon xp supports Windows 7 but not with more than 3 gigabytes. Delay that idea. Running large applications causes resets—no fun at all. Even simple tests like userbenchmark.exe fail.
But why? My Pentium 1 PC with Win 98 runs perfectly fine—playing old DOS games on genuine hardware works great! Of course, I’d never link it to the internet, even though it feels tempting sometimes 😂. Still, I keep the AOL software installed, just in case!
