Running Windows 10 with an NVMe drive offers faster performance.
Hi, I attempted to set up Windows 10 on a fresh PC but encountered an issue: a media driver is missing. I changed the USB port of my flash drive, tried the motherboard CD drivers, downloaded additional ones from the website, and even updated the BIOS. My system has only the NVMe drive and a graphics card ready for installation. Could you assist?
This setup seems unusual, doesn't it? It looks like the BIOS might be configured for AHCI or RAID. From the Windows installation, you should select the appropriate drivers for a 64-bit system. Have you also tried using the chipset-specific .inf drivers?
No AHCI mode exists for NVMe drives. Ensure UEFI is active. MSI refers to "Windows 10 WHQL Support" which actually indicates UEFI compatibility. Disable XMP, set profile to 1. M.2/Optane Genie should remain off. Fast Boot must be enabled. MSI Fast Boot is compatible with this setup. Secure Boot needs to be turned on. If supported, the ISO may be damaged—recreate it or re-burn the DVD. If the disk is faulty, try a different blank drive or adjust burn speed. Refer to the USB guide for further steps.
