I have an ASUS Prime B450-Plus motherboard and I'm experiencing the orange LED strip staying on even after shutting down the PC. I understand how to turn it off in BIOS, but I'm curious about leaving it active. I appreciate the orange glow when the system is off—it adds a 'dormant' appearance. I'm trying to figure out if keeping the LEDs on continuously could cause any problems.
I want to know:
1) How long the integrated LEDs might last under continuous operation.
2) What happens if they dim or stop, and whether it affects my PC's performance.
I'm okay with the LEDs turning off once they stop working, as long as the rest of the system remains functional. Thanks for your assistance!
I tested the LED in my previous project for six years and everything was fine. They still function properly. However, running them nonstop might give the impression they won’t last much longer. In any case, their lifespan should remain consistent overall.
Based on my observations, LEDs typically last around five years if used occasionally and about two years if left on continuously. This doesn<|pad|>, it won’t fail instantly; initially they may dim. These lights shouldn’t harm the motherboard once they stop working, though this depends on their quality. I own a case fan with a blue LED in my NAS—though not the best option, it’s already there. The fan from 2005 has run about fifteen hours daily for over ten years without any problems so far.
