Hi!
I'm using an AMD FX-8320 CPU, an ASUS M5A97 EVO R2.0 motherboard, and a Nvidia GTX 1070 GPU. My cooler is a Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo.
I've already increased the CPU frequency to 4.3 GHz by adjusting the CPU ratio up to 21.5, but the system crashed at 22. I'm looking for the best overclocking settings and have watched several videos and read an article (http://www.overclock.net/t/1348623/amd-b...otherboard). Still unsure how to do it safely.
My main goal is to overclock the CPU for my new Oculus Rift CV1.

Initially, you must purchase an upgraded cooler; the TX3 won't suffice.

Hi,
What temps are the cpu hitting under full load ?
If the tx3 isn't getting you better temps, you might want to consider Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
or wait for zen to upgrade to a better cpu

First you should buy a better cooler; the TX3 won't suffice.
Hi!
I understand this isn't a top-end model, but it's what it is...

Hello,
What are the CPU temperatures under full load?
If the TX3 isn't providing better temps, you might want to look into Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO or wait for Zen to upgrade its CPU.
Hi!
I tested Prime95 for about an hour and kept CPU temps below 60 degrees, around 56-57 (possibly lower) when idle (38). My setup is an ATX Zalman Z3+ with 5 120mm fans. I plan to buy a new CPU eventually, but right now I want everything in my FX-8320 with the cooler mentioned.
Actually, 4.3 GHz is sufficient for me. I just wanted to check if any settings need adjusting or changed.
I'm currently using the default AI Overclock tuner (Auto) settings, except CPU ratio tuned up and turbo disabled.
Edit: Just played DCS for an hour. Maximum temps reached 44 degrees at 4.3 GHz OC.
