Hey there, Kurt! Let's figure this out step by step. First, check if the setup screen appears automatically when you start the game. If not, try opening Steam and searching for the game—sometimes it shows up in the list. Make sure you're using the latest version of Steam and that your system is updated.

For the resolution issue, after uninstalling and deleting registry files, ensure you're running the original setup file directly from the installation folder. Avoid launching the game through Steam's launcher unless you're certain it's the correct one.

If you still face problems, consider using a tool like "Setup Wizard" or "Game Reset Tool" to restore the original settings. Also, verify that your graphics drivers are up to date. If you share your Steam ID, I can help guide you further with specific commands.

An alternative method would be: Open the game in Steam, go to the Steam folder for that title, rename the Savegame folder to another name, start the game and see the initial hardware setup screen, enter the game and close it. Then copy the player***.sav file from the old location into the new save folder and replace it (to restore your profile if needed). You might also need to copy some am*** .dat files along with it.

Use the command prompt to launch the setup tool by navigating to the executable folder and running the command.

Usually, you can return to the setup menu by launching the game via the list, which appears when you click the Steam icon in the system tray, or by pressing the play button in your Steam library. If neither works, right-click on the game name in the library and check for a configure option in the menu.

I considered this a bit tricky just to open the settings menu, but it actually functioned. Appreciate your assistance—thanks for the update. I assumed it would be straightforward, but my file explorer didn’t show an option to launch Command Prompt from the menus. It looks like Steam doesn’t provide a direct way to load settings or configuration there. I was quite taken aback by how difficult it seemed to get resolved.

Please let me know if you need anything else.
You can access the folder by holding Shift or Ctrl+Shift and right-clicking outside any text area. This will reveal additional options, including "Open command window here." It should function in Windows 7.

Does it show powershell? It does the same thing in this case. Either way I see you've already solved your problem, so no need to check. Mark one of the answers as correct so the thread will show as answered
