running poorly optimized games
These games aren't so bad to play on modern hardware. You'd likely find many console versions where they didn't bother with the 30 FPS cap. But otherwise, a GTX 980, GTX 1070, RTX 2060, GTX 1660 Ti, RX 480 or RX 580 should work well. A solid quad-core processor would be ideal, ideally with SMT support.
Middle End Quad Core i5 paired with GTX 1050 Ti and 16GB DDR4 RAM, along with custom graphics and a well-tuned Windows 10, achieves 44-64 fps at 1080p. For higher graphical demands, opt for a High End Quad Core i5 with GTX 1060 and 3GB of memory, which can reach 1440p when using custom settings.
I sift through a lot of old and new ports from Japanese companies.
More on the thread, it really depends on the game. Seriously though, you could likely handle them with any decent modern GPU that isn’t terrible (a GTX 970 should work for most of the bad ones) and a solid CPU.
