Hey everyone, I just installed GTA V for the first time and my VRAM is currently at 2.5 GB even when using the lowest settings like 1024x600 resolution. I’m wondering if there’s a way to improve this or if this is typical given my system specs—CPU: AMD A8 3500MHz, 8GB RAM, Radeon HD 6650M, and so on.

You lowered the texture settings to the lowest level. The results vary based on the model with fewer VRAM units—512MB when it doesn’t allocate extra to the GPU, and 1GB when it does.

Unexpectedly learned this works. It’s actually standard. At high VRAM settings, performance reaches 4.4GB.

It seems the texture configuration might ignore your display resolution, which means you should opt for reduced texture options to save memory.

However, it remains unaffected by any adjustments to the standard configurations.

For the best performance, try adjusting settings to boost FPS as much as possible.

Already adjusted the settings. Because many textures fail to load, the game becomes difficult to play since nothing is visible.

The 2.5GB figure likely comes from a different version or context of the game, or it may be an estimate based on average performance rather than exact specs.

Typically, these games have issues with their VRAM bars. Resident Evil and GTA both seem affected by this problem.
