The issue might be related to smoke affecting the power supply. Since your dad smokes heavily and has an ashtray nearby, it’s possible the fumes could have blocked the airflow or caused a buildup in the power supply. Try moving the ashtray further away or using a different one to see if that resolves the problem.

Random bluescreens often indicate unstable RAM. A single puff of secondhand smoke won't destroy electronics.
