Hello everyone, I’m experiencing some major problems with my PC. Let me explain a bit about what’s been happening. A few months ago, my computer would take an extremely long time to boot up or complete any task. Sometimes it would take nearly 10 minutes just to get started, even though there were no viruses detected. The search function would also freeze repeatedly. I thought the problem might be related to the age of my hardware, so I upgraded my components. I replaced my AMD 8320e with an AMD 5600 and added an RTX 3060ti (these are my current specs). After the upgrade, the issues persisted. I cleaned out my storage space and everything else, but the problem continued. I then reformatted my SSD and installed a fresh Windows 11 installation (moving from Windows 10). Even after that, the same performance issues remained. I ran CrystalDiskHealth to check the health of my SSD, and it’s still functioning at about 55% capacity with normal sector count. I’m really confused and unsure what to do next. Any advice or troubleshooting steps would be helpful. I’d appreciate any guidance before making further changes.

What type of SSD are you using? Have you customized any settings such as PBO or DOCP(XMP)? Where is the drive connected? Which motherboard model are you using, and what slot did you install it in? How many RAM modules do you have installed?

I own an Adata SATA 480GB SSD. From what I understand, all the options are default unless you verify if XMP is active. The drive is connected to a SATA 1 port on my MOBO system, which runs the MSI B550 Gaming GEN3 with 32GB RAM at 3200MHz.

This appears to be a performance issue. Insightful analytics don’t always capture the full picture. Would you like me to run a PassMark disk test? https://www.passmark.com/products/performancetest/

@Fokus seems in line with @Whatisthis. About half the performance is quite low. I haven’t noticed anything below 90% after long-term use. SATA SSDs are now affordable, so upgrading should be easy.

Thanks for your assistance. I plan to run the passmark test. Still, I believe you both are correct—the SSD seems to be the main issue I’m experiencing.

I executed the test and here are the outcomes: It seems it's about time to upgrade to a new SSD.

That’s a significantly low rating, far under what one would anticipate even for a relatively new SATA drive. Using an M2 slot on the board would provide much improved performance compared to SATA. For example, a Samsung 980 Pro achieves 40k on that platform (via PCIe 4).

Sure thing! I'll make that upgrade happen right away.
