im having issues with my pc as its constantly on 100% due to this single core problem ive looked in the bios for any power saving features or options that might be disabling some cores but couldn't see anything and ive also tried the .msconfig fix for this problem but that didn't seam to work either ive even done a fresh install of windows 10 but still the same readout can anyone sugest anything else or is it that the old girl has just went kaput ? motherboard- gigabyte ga-f2a55m-hd2 cpu- amd fx 6300 os- windows 10 gpu-gtx1050ti
Click the chart right, select "Change Graph to," then move to logical processors. I just noticed something odd—maybe you should reset the CMOS.
Thanks! The image you shared clearly displays the logical processors indicating my thoughts.
I removed the battery from the motherboard and reset the BIOS, but it’s still not working. I’m trying to open the BIOS and take some screenshots because I don’t know what to do next.
Observed in the image and the first one—your system uses an A4-6300, not an FX-6300. The A4-6300 features a dual-core CPU design (two cores within a single module), which explains why Task Manager lists one core but two logical processors.
Absolutely, that's correct. I started doubting the FX 6300 after noticing he was using a fm2-mainboard—something clearly wasn't right. The A4-6300 features a 2-core CPU with an integrated GPU, making it suitable for HTPC and media centers. It handles older games well, and basic tasks like browsing and office work should also function smoothly. However, high utilization might stem from system scanning and indexing processes.
