You're facing a common challenge when trying to block network traffic using tools like NETSHOE on Windows, especially when third-party firewalls are active. Since the third-party software is already configured and the rule appears in Windows Firewall but doesn't take effect, you may need to ensure it's not interfering with the NETSHOE commands. One approach is to temporarily disable or adjust the third-party firewall settings to allow the NETSHOE commands through, then re-enable it afterward. Alternatively, you can try using a different method such as configuring your own proxy or using a virtual machine with a clean environment. If possible, check if the firewall logs or settings are blocking the NETSHOE process itself.

If this were achievable, third-party security tools would become irrelevant since anyone could circumvent the firewall with a basic script.

Updated to Networking section. This process occurs at the router level. Traffic is prevented from reaching the client side before it reaches the router. Changed on September 2, 2019 by LogicalDrm
