Rubber left on the controller and now the odor remains even after washing
Hello,
I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask, but just yesterday while cleaning around, I discovered an old TV remote controller. Over time, the rubber has turned into a slimy residue that ended up on my hand. Although I was able to wash away the liquid without much trouble, the smell of rubber persisted even after a full day. I attempted to clean it with soap and shampoo, but the odor returned within a couple of minutes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
You might attempt vinegar, but over time the area where the rubber touched will fade and the odor will disappear.
Also, human skin behaves like a sponge, absorbing liquids, which is why the smell persists even after cleaning.
