RTX 4090 with black bar flicker at the top of the monitor
I want to start this off by saying im tried DDU multiple times, repair OS, reinstall other drivers. I have a GSYNC monitor (this glitch doesnt happen with it disabled) Only thing i havnt done is a full OS reinstall. It happens when there is a change from very low to high load on the GPU. I have noticed that it triggers when the GPU lowers or increases the memory clock. Sometimes it happens in light games that put little load on the gpu as well, mostly light titles. The blackbar-like flicker extends along the entire screen width but it's limited to the first 6cm or so at the top of the screen in height. While it occurs, the lower part of the screen keeps on rendering just fine and the game doesn't crash. It lasts less than a second but happens randomly, especially if the GPU load is just right to make the memory go back and forth. Playing demanding games that require 99% of the GPU usage never see this artifact because they never downclock. only games that fluctuate between 15-30% usage see this flicker. I have kinda found a workaround by setting the global NVCP power mode to "prefer max performance", this makes the GPU core and memory clock be maxed out 24/7, turn off 0db fans, and increase idle power consumption. also going into NVPI and setting individual games to max performance works aswell. is this issue well know? does anybody know of a fix / solution that isnt one of my work arounds above?
I also have a dual monitor configuration. My primary 1440p display sits next to my 1080p HDMI secondary screen. When I use just the main monitor, the problem disappears. It only appears when the secondary monitor is connected.
