RTX 3070 Ti Dual Fan GPU overheating at 89°C in CS2

In my view, new pads won't make you look cooler. The current temperatures are high while gaming with fans on auto. Remove the fan tool as well. Use the thermal paste, it's fine. Make sure the cooler is seated correctly and don't tighten the screws too much if you can.
Sorry, I can't locate your GPU model's thermal pad thickness details. You'll need to have the technician measure each pad with a vernier caliper. A high-quality thermal paste would be ideal, but success also depends on proper contact between the die and heatsink coldplate.
with the fans running at auto speed, temperatures in CS2 climb to 87-88°C. I performed a brief 2-minute FurMark test and the readings reached 91°C. The results have been shared.
You're not required to leave the front panel off entirely. Adding about 2cm gaps is possible, though it's not perfect, but it improves the situation. Alternatively, you can use a porous metal speaker grill and carve out a rectangle to prevent interference with your fans.
I recommend attempting the GPU re-paste yourself—it's not overly complicated.
The backplate screws and four main screws are located around the GPU. I prefer a precision screwdriver and use my fingertips to control the torque, ensuring you don’t over-tighten. As long as you're careful, it should work fine.
For thermal pads, you don’t need advanced tools. A basic ruler suffices. Measure closely: check the compressed, squeezed-out, and any uncompressed sections. Aim for measurements around 1mm or 2mm. Having both sizes on hand is ideal. If more thickness is needed, stack them. The goal is to avoid using a pad that’s too thick, so the GPU fits snugly against the heatsink.
Hydronaut performs better than Kryonaut when not dealing with temperatures above zero. Kryonaut is decent, but it offers features you won’t need for everyday use.
