RTX 2080 ti vs 3070
RTX 2080 ti vs 3070
I'm thinking about switching from a 3070 to a 2080Ti now. The problems with the 3080 cards have made me hesitant about the 3000 series. I believe a 2080Ti would fit well in my current build. My main concern is whether I can hit ultra settings at 1440p/4K and maintain around 60 FPS. I'll share my configuration so you can give me feedback. I have a Ryzen 7 3700X with 16GB DDR4 RAM and an RTX 2080Ti. Also, a quick question—would anything slow me down in that setup?
A 2080 ti works well. Improved results might come from a 3070, though the likelihood of obtaining it is extremely small sadly.
All steps in this release need a bit of waiting. Keep patience with the fixes, and wait until you can actually purchase the items. Avoid spending more than you'd pay for a 3070 if you can get a 2080 instead; otherwise, the differences won't matter much.
I'm also a little worried the 3070 might slow me down in some way
It's great to hear that! I don't hold unrealistic expectations and appreciate the effort to believe in a solid system, even if it's pre-built.
1440p works well, but 4k depends heavily on the game. For gaming, I’d suggest sticking with 1440p at 144Hz for a smoother experience. As for the 2080ti, it should perform similarly to the RTX 3070 in terms of visuals, though it might lag slightly in ray tracing and DLSS compared to newer models.
