My PC has a GeForce RTX 2070 and a Ryzen 2700x processor. I’m experiencing frequent frame rate reductions in games like Fortnite, sometimes plummeting to 60 FPS, particularly when playing at 1080p resolution. Similarly, titles such as Assassin’s Creed appear noticeably poor quality. Just a few days ago my system was performing flawlessly, and now it’s become completely unreliable. This has significantly impacted my enjoyment over the past few days, especially since it’s my first computer build – I had successfully resolved all previous issues. Could you please advise me?

Please list all of your computer hardware and run a program such as Furmark to assess whether your graphics card is experiencing excessive heat.

I experienced the identical issue yesterday (BFV 1440 Ultra at approximately 60 frames per second). I attempted numerous solutions to resolve it. Following a brief period away from the game, I returned and initiated BFV, discovering that the problem had vanished (around 100 frames per second). Please inform me if the frame rate decrease also resolved itself. It’s possible that a Windows update was responsible. Specs: RTX 2070 and i7-8700

There might be a problem with the power supply or possibly a fault in the connections for the graphics card. The card cannot reach its maximum performance because it’s not receiving sufficient power, so it operates at a significantly lower level to compensate. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, examine the card's cooling system, and if all else fails, return it to the vendor for a replacement.
