Only because a screen can handle 4k doesn't guarantee you need to use that quality.

Age of Empires 2 (2013) doesn't work well on 4K displays yet. A delay is coming soon.

Based on the work of developers who created a major error in AoE DE and failed to patch it, attempting to do well with AoE2 DE isn't a reliable choice.

You faced some issues with 1 DE. Outside the pathfinding, it's actually quite fine.
