Hello! I'm trying to change the IMEI number of my Huawei B818 LTE Router. In my country, using a SIM card isn't possible because it only recognizes certain IMEIs. I've attempted to modify it via Telnet and SSH, but I can't even connect to the router. The error message says "could not open connection to the host on port 23 connect failed." I've also tried adding Telnet in the inbound and outbound rules, disabling antivirus and firewall. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks! Best Regs. Josh

Which nation are you operating in? Is this tied to a carrier beyond your own country? I've noticed such CPEs often don't rely on physical SIM cards. The details needed for cellular data access are embedded in the device itself. Your goal may not be feasible. Have you encountered this before?

You're aware that altering an IMEI is typically against the law in many regions, isn't it? We were discussing possible legal consequences.
