I get what you mean, but I can still use the internet even with a poor connection. It’s worth mentioning that I also got a newer SmartHub last week, and the problem continues on both devices.
Have you checked if updating the ASUS router's firmware resolves the issue? It might be a version problem.

I resolved the issue, so here’s what I used for others joining this thread. I bought a Draytek Vigor 130 to swap in for the BT SmartHub. Set it up as a PPPOE bridge. Configured the Asus router with these settings: WAN Connection Type, DNS Server automatically enabled, Username: [email protected], Password: bt. BT will detect DNS servers automatically. While not mandatory, this prevents the default DNS server from being used. BT has been testing this setup for a few days now, and everything is functioning perfectly. Connection speeds stayed the same, and buffer usage has improved. Let me know if this helps!
