If the router comes from your ISP, you may need to contact them. If it's your own router, plug the network port from its WAN into your PC and check for internet access. If it works, it's the router; if not, it might be the device before the router.

I connected it and there was no internet. I also spoke to my network provider, who said the issue is with me.

Not every broadband connection works out of the box, some require login details to link with your ISP. Have you checked the router manual? It usually provides a simple setup guide.
