Whenever I attempt to download anything on any device—whether it's an update, photo, song from Spotify, or a game—I notice my router suddenly restarts because of the overwhelming data traffic. I've used three different routers from my ISP, and the only difference is how quickly the downloads proceed before the reset occurs. Essentially, I'm wondering if there are any troubleshooting steps I can take myself before buying a router that might not work properly. Cheers, Jack

Sorry to hear this, but fixing problems at the network edge is often very difficult. If the modem or router has been swapped several times yet the issue persists, it likely points to a WAN problem. Your Internet Service Provider should be the best resource for resolving this. It’s also possible that the equipment you received was faulty from the start, so consider purchasing your own modem and router to test if the situation improves.
