I’m trying to configure a Netgear router as an access point for a small office. I need to connect two computers, two USB printers, and one credit card machine. This is mainly about cost since we’re limited on funds. I’ll contact my Comcast router (router A) and the Netgear router (router B). Router A has IP 10.1.10.1 and B is 192.168.1.1. They’re connected via LAN. In router B, I disable both wireless radios because I don’t need Wi-Fi there. I enable DHCP server mode. Under LAN settings, I change the IP to 10.1.10.2, set subnet to 255.255.255.0, DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, gateway to 10.1.10.1 so it points to router A. The issue is I can’t manage router B or access its devices. I need to configure the printers on the USB ports. Even after resetting router B several times, I still lose internet access to connected computers. I suspect I might be missing something, as I couldn’t locate the MAC addresses of router B or its connected devices even with a stable connection.
