ROG Z390-F overclocking at 9900k is a popular setup.
Hello, welcome! Did anyone use the rog z390-f to boost the 9900k to all-core 5GHz? What settings are you currently using? I’m running up to 1.43V LLC and getting a 5GHz error even during tests. My setup uses a thermaltake m360 water cooling loop, and the temperature spikes to 86°C while loading. Should I switch to a different motherboard to achieve 5GHz? Thanks for your help!
I've attempted to stop hypertreading and switched to 5GHz all cores. It requires about 1.42v for stability in 20 minutes. Current temperature is 78°C.
I achieved OC to 5 GHz, but it wasn’t worth the extra heat and power. Eventually I stuck at 4.7 GHz across all cores. Not every chip overclocks equally—this is why people call it the ‘silicon lottery.’ Upgrading the motherboard just to hit 5 GHz wouldn’t help much. If your CPU isn’t strong enough, you might face the same problem with the new motherboard. What’s the highest stable speed you can reach without issues? 4.9 GHz?
yeah .. hii .. 4.9Ghz need around 1.4v to stable is it too high for daily use right ? but the temp is only 83c max load and hwinfo only show 14x w even i unable hypertreading 5.0Ghz also need 1.43v to stable and temp is 88c 15x w ..
