I run the Maximus X Hero for competitive testing. It's a solid board, possibly the Apex is better for memory overclocking though.

Consider using an ASUS board. If you're planning to install a 9th gen Intel CPU on the Z390 platform, that setup is quite outdated. Opt for AMD or Z490 with a 10th gen Intel—though it might be more expensive.
