Hi I didnt notice but is there a protective plastic over the M.2_1 slot (Key M), type 2260/2280 ? My build doesnt start at first I got it started I used the cooler from the box i-5 12400f and got extreme heat over 80 degrees at first startup but now it doesnt start at all. I have remounted the cooloer and noticed that the paste on the cooler looked exactly like from the box, untouched. Any tips for this rookie ? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KJPvyg

Many coolers include a protective plastic layer over the thermal paste to safeguard it during transport. I’d verify that too. Ensure the cooler is securely placed on the CPU evenly. On certain designs, improper placement may lead to overheating. The optimal method for even tightening is diagonal—starting from the top left and moving to the bottom right. Secure most of the way, but avoid over-tightening. This ensures proper alignment. After finishing, tighten each screw thoroughly. Remember not to apply excessive force (we playfully called it 'Gorilla Gripping') or you risk damaging the screw head. Best regards, WeTuLo707

I took out the stock cooler and it wasn’t even connected to the CPU at all—it felt strange with those odd pop screws. I added the Thermalright Peerless Assassin, and the temperatures dropped to around 30°C for my CPU afterward.
