I assembled quite a few computers over the years and usually managed any issues that popped up. This particular one has me puzzled. I keep receiving errors every other boot, with no display and the VGA indicator flashing on the motherboard. When I power it off and turn it back on, it boots fine. The same problem shows up again during the next boot. I’ve updated the BIOS, but the issue remains. Any advice would be greatly appreciated so I can resolve this before handing it over to the owner. The unusual behavior happens every other boot, even after disconnecting the power between each session and regardless of how long it takes to restart. I plan to perform another CMOS reset and reinstall memory and GPU tomorrow morning. If that doesn’t resolve it, it suggests there might be a problem with the graphics card itself.
It seems a minor adjustment was made while checking for issues on my main computer. It managed to bypass the VGA section, which had been causing failures during each boot (taking roughly 5–10 minutes). After another similar period, I received the message "(A7) Me FW Downgrade - request mespilock failed." Once that appeared, the system booted normally again. This irregular behavior is really confusing and unsettling for me.
