ROG Strix 2060S shines with RGB lighting only in part.
My ROG Strix 2060 super features RGB strips above and below the fans. Oddly, just the parts of the strips above and below the far right fan light up while everything else stays dark. The fans function properly and the GPU runs smoothly. (Refer to photo) This issue has persisted despite driver updates, reinstallation of Windows, BIOS refreshes, and moving all internal components into a new case. None of these steps resolved the problem. The current configuration includes ROG B450 gaming, Ryzen 5 2600, ROG Strix 2060 Super, 16GB RAM, an M.2 SSD, a 1TB HDD, and a Master NR200P cooler with pre-installed AIO and PSU.
It seems you're wondering if you'd have to take it apart to examine it.
Check availability externally first; most cards are visible without disassembly.
I took out the card and examined the cable links on the side. I removed and reattached them. Still nothing…
The illumination for that section or your card's cooler comes from LED lights inside fiber optic tubes. It's typical for these cables to lose brightness or stop functioning partially or entirely when exposed to prolonged heat, which is why you might notice the fiber optic tubes appearing dimmer. You can view images and details of these tubes in this guide: https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/nvidia-gra...ow-fix-for. The information applies to Vega and 10-series cards, while the 20-series Strix cooler's cover is essentially similar. Replacement tubes are sometimes available on eBay and can be found through searches elsewhere.
Thanks for the details! It seems you might need to swap them out.
