ROG CROSSHAIR VI HERO x370 BIOS update available.
Hello, I'm trying to upgrade from Ryzen 5 1600X to Ryzen 7 3700X. For this, I need to update the BIOS to version 7901, but the system warns me to rename the BIOS file (C6H.CAP) using BIOSRenamer first. Could someone assist with that? I'm not sure how to do it correctly.
The zip archive that holds the BIOS also includes a renaming tool to change its name, which is useful only when using USB Flashback. With a functional CPU on the 1600X, you don’t require this feature. For other setups, simply transfer the BIOS file (often .CAP) to a USB drive and insert it into your system. Then use standard BIOS flashing software—such as EZFlash for ASUS—to update it directly in the motherboard settings. In the ASUS case, placing the file on an SSD near C: or D: works well, though it deviates from the common practice of using a USB stick.
