Hello, I'm considering purchasing the ROG B450-E. I have two questions: First, does using the M.2 e key for wireless device support impact performance compared to the first PCIe slot? Second, if the M.2 uses SATA mode (M.2_1 in this case), will it only disable certain SATA ports without affecting performance? Thank you!

It links to the chipset rather than the CPU. Still, I’ll rate it against Asus since there’s definitely room for a Wi-Fi module in the rear I/O. Just remember to go with M2_2 unless you require the additional PCIe lane.

You asked about adding extra SATA ports. If you don’t need a top-tier card, an 8x SATA port on the board should suffice. Unless you’re using a very advanced component, PCIe 3.0 x8 is more than sufficient for the graphics card.

I have an 1060 8Gbps model, so it doesn't require the x16. With just two SATA drives, it's better to use the M.2_1 slot instead of M.2 if performance is the same on both. Thanks!
