Hey there! I’ve got a fresh project on the table. I purchased a ROG Ally and set up Holoiso, but I’m running into some hiccups. The micro SD card isn’t mounting properly—it appears in desktop mode but doesn’t show up in the Storage settings. I’ve tried another card and even attempted to connect it, but it failed. Since the ROG Ally isn’t fully optimized for SteamOS, I don’t have direct access to its UI controls like the “STEAM” button. I recall needing CLT+1 and CLT+2 commands, but I’m curious if I can reprogram the Ally’s interface to map those actions in Game mode. Additionally, I want to adjust GPU power settings and clock speeds, but with the Z1 Extreme APU it’s not working as expected. I’m trying to squeeze in some APU features without switching platforms. Just wanted to share my thoughts and ask for any tips or advice—this is mostly a fun side endeavor. I’ll probably stick to Windows for the best ROG Ally experience. Thanks!

Updated! After setting up cyberpunk 2077 and checking the benchmarks, the GPU reached its maximum power draw while the CPU stayed at 544mhz. I’m giving up on this and switching back to Windows. I’m hoping SteamOS will become more accessible in the future and support other handhelds.

I'm heading back to Steam or high water. The Windows is not working properly.

Consider the Nobara Steam Deck version. It appears to be the main issue with the Ally, as there aren't many suitable games available for it.

Thanks for the advice. I invested four days trying to understand the Ally's software, but it remained confusing. Even with tailored settings for each control mode, it still felt like a chaotic mess.
