Intel usually backs two types of architectures, and the current Intel 400 series boards are limited to Comet Lake. Gigabyte seems to have verified this, though I’m not sure if that’s a definitive answer.

I aim for a minimum boost of 10% over gaming performance to surpass the Ryzen 5000-series by three percent. If it falls short, they likely wouldn’t release it. I’d expect Alder Lake/Meteor Lake to bring significant change, with DDR5 and a big.SMALL design. LGA1700, 10/7nm+ sounds like a solid upgrade route if AMD doesn’t improve again by about 20%.
