Hey
SO i know this is a touchy subject but it is just a simple question.
if you look at a game like Fallout 4, and it requires 30+ GB of space, but they Repacks of the game are able to make it only 8GB, how is this possible?
This was my question, A game like that, would it run worse then if you get it off steam?
I ask this because I have a somewhat shit computer, (GPU) and would like to test and see if my computer could run it, its currently 40$ on steam, and I can pay for that, But I really don't want to get it, then not have it able to run on my computer
so yeah
Also, if this is TOS, please feel free to remove the post. I am just wondering.

You don't need a top-tier machine. A Ryzen 5 1600 and GTX 1060 6GB are more than sufficient to handle Fallout 4 smoothly. I own an i5 2400, 8GB DDR3 1333MHz, and a GTX 1060 3GB, and I consistently maintain around 60 fps on the high setting—pretty impressive. Plus, it runs perfectly without any issues. Also, think about purchasing the game when it goes on sale. I bought it for $15.00. It's almost summer, and sales are expected to start soon. Just save yourself the hassle and wait until the Steam summer sale happens, then grab it at a lower price. You'll appreciate it.

I'm using a 1050. My brother took the 1060 back. Also, I'm from Canada land - I've been out of school for 4 weeks now and the sale isn't for 6 weeks. So I've been really bored; the price isn't the issue, Humble Bundle has it for 20$.

Using it through Steam won't affect performance in any way.

Regardless, it should still run fine. So there's nothing to worry.

Repacks are intriguing since their impact hinges entirely on how the involved repackagers handle them.
Certain users will deliberately strip away parts of the game—typically FMVs and music if feasible—and then apply intense compression to those files, for instance.
Nonetheless, repacks should behave identically to an official copy, provided there’s no copy protection that negatively affects performance (such as VMProtect).

Repacks eliminate unnecessary material but mainly reduce file size. It will be installed with a much larger footprint than the download. Also, certain games run noticeably better by removing DRM such as Denuvo, which causes a 12-18 FPS drop. Not recommending piracy—your PC is fine—but it's not a magic fix.

Don't you think it's $29.99?
https://www.humblebundle.com/store/fallout-4
It's now listed at $19.99 on GameBillet.
https://www.gamebillet.com/fallout-4
The price also drops to $13.00 to $15.00 several times each month.
You can find it for $10.00 on eBay almost every day, especially the version with a bonus poster included.

Compression is decent but requires significant CPU and RAM to handle the process. My friend spent hours installing a Naruto game on his laptop, yet it worked perfectly. The Steam game compresses well or doesn’t compress at all, which makes it easier to verify or do incremental updates.

As I discussed earlier, Fallout 4 is available for $13.00 to $15.00 at least once each month. That time has already arrived. And to Steam...
Fallout 4 $14.99 on Steam
right now. The deadline is May 20th, so grab it soon.
