The 1600X handles 2667MHz and above, making it an open configuration. With budget memory modules around $60, you won't get much more performance. My earlier models struggle to exceed 2933MHz even with decent RAM. Your previous issues mainly stem from not being familiar enough, not from any other factor. Asus partially updated their QVL, but the filters are still faulty, which makes it difficult to sort through. Still, I managed to confirm that my RAM isn<|pad|>, which isn’t listed in their QVL for the 5000 series—this is quite frustrating (it’s supported by 3000 and 4000 models). Their messages felt automated, just pointing me back to their QVL without explaining the process.
G.SKILL responded warmly, letting me know I’d need to lower the settings temporarily until the next BIOS release. They mentioned Asus and AMD are actively working on a fix soon. I’m unsure if the update will be added to the official QVL or if it will only function at intended speeds without being included in the default settings.
Since all my parts have finally arrived, I’m deciding to move forward with what I can get. If RAM issues persist in a month, I’ll consider selling them and checking tech channels for recommendations.
