I own a Freenas server that holds all my CCTV recordings. I use an older ISP PC to capture the video. The two options I can suggest are Ispy or Blue Iris. I noticed Ispy lets you move storage locations and view footage conveniently. It includes a straightforward archive feature. The program works with most network cameras and DVR/NVR systems. If you plan to use remote monitoring, Ispy costs around £70 per year. But you should choose the best fit for your requirements.
