As long as you avoid unintentionally overwriting files during the installation of Ubuntu, it poses very little danger. However, if something goes wrong, you’ll lose everything.

You seem unsure about things but you're confident you can handle it. You've got a setup ready and a bootable USB, which is great. Just remember, having backups is important for safety.

If you just want to mess with linux, there is no reason to dual boot, just fire it up in a vm.

The performance drop from a VM can vary, but it often slows down gaming and other tasks. You might notice lag or reduced frame rates if the setup isn't optimized.

It isn't built in, it's Valve's anti-cheat system, not CS anti-cheat. From what I understand, it hasn't been released for Linux yet. A quick search should reveal some forums and GitHub discussions about it.
