It seems unusual, but right-clicking functions well for you without delay. Try starting from Safe Boot by holding Shift during the restart. Sign in and verify the right-click behavior. After that, switch back to regular mode. Sometimes Safe Boot resolves issues by clearing corrupted or overly large caches.
