This update wasn't a major challenge, just wanted to share some observations. It seems the patch addressed the Meltdown and Spectre issues. After checking online disk benchmarks, I decided to run my own tests. In the images, #1 was tested before the patch using the automated 'all' option. #2 followed with the same method post-patch. #3 involved running each test type separately, ensuring at least two minutes between starts. All three runs produced consistent and repeatable results. Your hardware configuration details are included in my signature. When comparing tests 2 and 3, pay attention to Q8T8 and Q1T1 read counts. For comparisons between 1 and 2/3, also record the 4K Q32T1 and Q1T1 write performance alongside previous checks. Beyond storage speed, I noticed my antivirus (Symantec Endpoint) generating warnings but still operating normally. AI Suite 3 experienced a brief interruption lasting about five minutes when I first powered on, then resumed. EDIT: I’ll also note that aside from this, no other performance issues have appeared in my setup so far.

I observed a significant jump in my 850 Pro scores using Samsung Magician. However, RAPID Mode is active on the system, which can affect benchmark results, and I’m skeptical about the accuracy of the Magician scores. I don’t recall precise figures, but it seems to be near 3GB/s for both read and write operations.

I was on the verge of getting annoyed until I realized I owned a 960 EVO.
