Review on reducing voltage for Asus Zenbook duo ux481
Review on reducing voltage for Asus Zenbook duo ux481
I recently purchased this laptop. It has an i5 10210u with 8GB RAM. When rendering a video, the CPU initially runs at around 3.8 to 3.9 GHz, but after a couple of minutes it drops to about 2.5 to 2.8 GHz. The temperatures are close to 69-70 degrees Celsius. According to cpuid hwinfo, I considered lowering the voltage as suggested in a tech video. However, when trying to install Intel XTU, it doesn't install and I'm getting an error message.
From the screenshot, XTU doesn't work with Intel's 10th Gen U series CPUs. The alternative is ThrottleStop. https://www.techpowerup.com/download/tec...ottlestop/ Depending on your laptop model, this can significantly improve performance. It may help you surpass the 15 Watt TDP limit. https://i.imgur.com/NQHgK5G.png Intel released a microcode update last December, which some brands such as HP and Dell have begun incorporating into their BIOS. If you recently updated your BIOS, it's possible that the 'volting' feature was disabled. Try adjusting the volt under the 'volting' section in ThrottleStop FIVR. You'll need to fine-tune core and cache offsets individually. It's best to set them equally when first setting up. Check the Offset voltage column in the monitoring table located in the top right corner of the FIVR window. This will indicate whether your undervolt settings are effective. For optimal performance, follow these steps: under volting is step 1, then increase turbo power limits to step 2. Share many ThrottleStop screenshots if you need further guidance.
