I am starting a Chart on a Sony Vegas Test. If there already is one then, link me to it. But if not here is a test. Its mostly GPU bound. It is the Sony Vegas 11 test but since then it has been removed from their website. I managed to still have a copy of it. https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0...sp=sharing All you have to do is click Render As and then XDCAM EX. 1920 x 1080 - 60i. I have a screen shot of the render settings. Once your finished input your results into the Google Spreadsheet. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...sp=sharing This should take less than a minute. If you do not have sony vegas there is a trial you can run from here. http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/down...s/vegaspro

Just for clarity, I wouldn't share a spreadsheet publicly for editing, since it might attract unwanted attention or spam... perhaps keep it visible only?

This test runs efficiently with minimal GPU usage, under 5%, indicating it isn't heavily dependent on the GPU.

GPU boost is applied only to certain tasks in Vegas. The purpose of that particular export format and interlaced video isn’t clear—I’m confused about its actual use.

It should function properly, though I think it relies on OpenCL for speed. That’s the case. The footage includes many effects, flares, and overlays. I’m puzzled as to why the Nvidia GPUs aren’t engaging. The XDCAM EX format is designed so that CPU usage stays minimal. This is what the benchmark page says: "Our 3rd compute benchmark is Sony Vegas Pro 12, an OpenGL and OpenCL video editing and authoring package." It can utilize GPUs in various ways, mainly to speed up video effects, compositing, and encoding. With encoding moving more to dedicated DSPs now, we’re concentrating on editing and compositing with low CPU demand (XDCAM EX). This test was provided by Sony and evaluates rendering time.
