I recently switched to a fractal torrent compact, and my 970pro has stopped working properly. During the case change, I didn’t even interact with the M.2 slot—it remained covered by the heat spreader/cover. The M.2 boot isn’t visible in BIOS, but the hard drive appears in BIOS when Steam games are running. After switching slots and enabling CSM, it still shows up, though exiting BIOS prompts for boot media. I tried creating a Windows 10 USB from a repaired drive using the repair tool (with CSM active), but it failed. I installed Windows on another Intel 660P and used Samsung Magician—it worked fine there. It seems the boot partition might be corrupted. Since I had an Unraid server for backups, I suspect permissions were altered after the 6.12 update. I hope I can recover data from a few months ago. I plan to run chkdsk this morning to check for issues.
Currently, chkdsk is operating yet appears stuck. I'll allow it to continue for a short time.
