I started this message by admitting my mistake; years of experience with computers combined with some arrogance and lack of skill led to a damaged GPU. To make sure you understand, I’ll aim for clarity and detail. Here are the details:

- Operating system: Windows 10 64-bit on an M.2 SSD
- Graphics card: RX 570 4GB ARMOR OC MSI
- Motherboard: MSI B450M BAZOOKA V2

Here’s what happened: I decided to update my GPU after encountering problems with my monitor. I searched for guidance and found a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBuc_Nk05K8). Following the instructions carefully, I downloaded the BIOS file from TPU’s database matching my model and created a backup.

When I tried to flash it using amdvbflash_win_3.31 (an older GUI version), the software reported a mismatch error. I then watched another Spanish tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99v2wRkBhx4) that suggested opening Polaris BIOS Editor and manually adjusting the first five ROM values in the new VBIOS to match the old backup.

After making those changes, amdvbflash accepted the updated VBIOS and continued the flashing process. It prompted a reboot and waited for it to POST. After some time, I saw nothing—just a black screen. I panicked briefly but had a backup. I restored my PC using an older GT620, copied the flash file and backup, and connected the RX570 on another machine with an integrated GPU.

I verified the new VBIOS in GPU-Z and attempted to re-flash the backup following TechPowerUp’s instructions. Eventually, I tried again with a newer version (ATIFlash 2.93) using the -f parameter, which worked. After rebooting that specific machine (still with onboard graphics), nothing happened—my motherboard displayed a VGA LED but no display appeared.

I left it at that point, using my GT620 to finish studying for finals. I’m now working on fixing this again and hope you can help.

TL;DR: I force-flashed the GPU with PBE, damaged it, then forced a recovery using ATIFlash. Still stuck.

P.S. I gave up a cute kitten for this long read!

It's disappointing. Be careful when flashing VBIOS; do it only as a final option or on devices you're prepared to risk. You might recover it using JTAG https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threa...er.301007/

This approach might work. I’ll check options nearby and let you know what I find. Also, the instructions about shorting pins 1 and 5 followed by a reset could be useful.
