Hey everyone, I submitted my MSI 3080 Suprim X for RMA and it was swapped with a 3080TI. While it was being processed, I borrowed a friend's spare 2070 Super. After installing it, everything functioned perfectly. Once I removed the drivers and uninstalled the 2070 via Device Manager, I reinstalled the replacement card. Now I’m using the 2070 again and it’s working fine. I’ve checked the power, fans, and lights – everything is normal. I tested the 2070 directly and confirmed it’s receiving power, spinning, and lighting up. I booted with the power cables unplugged and used a multimeter to verify the voltage on all three 8-pin PCIe connectors, which are reading 12 volts as expected. Any suggestions for next steps? Thanks! Edit: system specs match your build – AMD 5800X MSI 3080TI with 13GB cooler, etc.

Do you have any Riser cables available? Which motherboard are you using? Have you adjusted the PCIe Gen setting manually in the BIOS instead of letting it auto-set? Also, since your friend lent you his 2070, did you consider installing the 3080ti there?

Thanks for the update! No riser needed. The B550 Aorus Elite AX V2 is new to me, but I attempted to switch the PCIE X16 to Gen 4 and reinstall the 3080TI without success. I haven’t tested it elsewhere yet. I’m curious if there are other approaches I could try to improve performance.

Use version 3 instead of version 4. If that doesn't work, check the GPU on your friend's system would be the next option.

I also attempted to use Gen 3 settings, but nothing worked. I visited a friend’s place today and tried the video card there as well—still no output. There was a display issue, so we managed to see the GPU through a secondary GPU (1050ti) and an HDMI adapter connected via USB. Windows recognized it, while Afterburner didn’t. CPU-Z displayed the GPU but couldn’t read VRAM details, and no driver or settings combination resolved the problem. I’m not sure if it’s time for a return to manufacturer support.

Looks like a malfunction if no signal reaches any system. It's time to replace it again.
