Retropie is available for Linux Mint.
Hi! I haven't tried retropie on mint myself. I've heard it works well with Raspberry Pi, but I'm not sure about using it on an older PC. Emulators can usually be installed through the software manager, so that should be possible. Let me know if you need more details!
It’s possible the site works since Mint runs on Ubuntu and Ubuntu on Debian. I don’t know if Mint includes those repositories.
I believe it doesn't function well since there are numerous updates between Debian and Mint.
I explored further and noticed there are patches available to run Retro Pi on Mint!
I'm working on Linux Mint 21.2 Cinnamon and attempting to install RetroPie. Initially successful, but I'm encountering problems where RetroArch fails to build. The log shows: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lEGL: No such file or directory collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [Makefile:204: retroarch] Error 1 Could not successfully build retroarch - RetroArch - frontend to the libretro emulator cores - required by all lr-* I verified that libegl1-mesa-de is up to date (23.0.4-0ubuntu1~22.04.1). I tried different options—upgrade, remove, none—but it still doesn't work. On another machine with Mint 21.2 XFCE, the same issue appears. Is this a known problem with the latest Mint release? Any suggestions for resolution? Thanks ahead!
RetroArch is available on Flathub too. The concept of RetroPie isn't clear to me.
