Hi everyone, I'm looking for some classic titles that support roleplaying, multiplayer, and single-player options. My system is an Intel Centralling Duo model T2250 at 1.73Ghz, running Windows 8.1 32-bit with the WDDM 1.0 chipset. It supports MMX, SE, SE2, and SE3. The processor is a 6 model E stepping 8 architecture. I need games that work well on this setup, mostly open-world experiences. Thanks! Adit

Right now I'm playing GTA 3, VCC and Halo Evolved. It feels a bit laggy, especially on my laptop. I'm trying to make PS1-style games work on my computer, but the controls are giving me trouble.

Explore the GOG catalog and you'll discover plenty to play with. Get a copy of Baldur's Gate 2 Enhanced Edition or Neverwinter Nights for long-lasting fun. Also look in Abandonware for items that are hard to find, and you'll often uncover hidden gems such as FASA and Westwood releases.

Grab the valve complete pack. Enjoy playing Half Life, Half Life: Blue Shift, Half Life 2, and other titles like Half Life 2 Episode One, Half Life 2 Episode Two, Lost Cost Portal, Portal 2. You can also try Command and Conquer: Doom 1993, Quake, Unreal Tournament, and participate in tournaments. Find Slay on the creator's website for a cheaper option.

The initial two titles you mentioned were just minor issues when starting a game, so I'm focusing on searching for older titles.

This refers to a game from 1998 and another from 2002, suggesting the discussion is about older titles. If you're experiencing DX problems, it's likely missing some necessary runtimes that should be available.

I have direct x but recall it mentioned failing to create something and recommended updating drivers. I’m confident it wasn’t a runtime problem.

Fallout universe, Planescape Torment plus various other RPGs (including recent titles). Also 2D Metroidvanias and platform games should work on potatoes. Shovel Knight Treasure Trove is a favorite, The Messenger is great.

Resident Evil 1 through 4 on a lost planet... but I believe it could be close!
