Hey everyone, looking for a budget-friendly game under $20 on Steam that feels a bit retro, like Assassin's Creed 2. Since I'm just starting with PC, I'm hoping to find some gems that fit the vibe without breaking the bank.

If possible, grab the Knights of the Old Republic 1/2 bundle. If not both, take the first one. They were truly great games; the second was rushed because of tight deadlines, but the first remains one of the best RPGs ever made and helped launch the Mass Effect series.

Batman Arkham City shares many similarities with Assassins Creed, just enhanced.

What kind of content are you looking for? Steam has a vast selection. The Orange Box costs $19.99.

Third-person shooter with stealth elements and an action-packed adventure. I received Arkham City for free after purchasing Batman: Arkham Knight.

I understand. Owning a PC without playing HL and HL2 feels like missing out on the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Deus Ex 1 offers great affordability and plenty of opportunities to play again. I've completed the whole campaign roughly six to seven times over the last fifteen years.

Besides Arkham Knight, the other three Batman titles are really strong. Origins faced criticism for being a repetitive sequel, but I find it quite solid. Far Cry 3 is affordable and offers a satisfying open-world experience with solid stealth features. After Metal Gear Solid 5, this game feels a bit lackluster, though that’s mostly due to higher expectations. Overall, for newcomers to PC gaming, I recommend picking something offering good value for your time, and keep an eye on upcoming Steam deals. Skyrim stands out as the top pick, especially with mods, requiring around 1373 hours but also functioning well as a third-person stealth shooter in a fantasy setting.
