Most likely the Vanguard would come out on top, thanks to its purpose-built capabilities. I’m leaning toward upgrading my S5 into something more powerful, like a S6 Railcannon, to really take it to the next level.

I was planning to ask what was going on until I noticed the subforum.

Under these conditions, the outcome would hinge largely on chance. Both vessels serve military purposes and carry enough weapons to overwhelm the opponent. The Tali is larger and carries more personnel than the Vanguard, which could provide an edge—particularly in terms of coverage area due to its numerous turrets. This might make it difficult for the Vanguard to secure a favorable position. Additionally, the Tali’s Anti-Cap ship torpedoes can target the Vanguard, potentially disrupting its operations. On the flip side, the Vanguard is more agile and compact, making it harder to hit despite being a significant threat. The presence of an S6 Fixed gun on the Tali could damage its defenses if the attack comes too quickly. While I value my Vanguard, the Tali appears to have the upper hand slightly.

The latest advanced versions are ready. Using module changes such as the Tali, I now possess a warning and a guardian for the cost of my transformed caterpillar and avenger.

The explosion seems crazy. I think I’ll grab a vanguard in the verse.

Yes, you understand correctly. With the base Vanguard and two battlefield upgrade kits, you can utilize all three variants in-game. There should also be an option for a permanent ship upgrade or a kit that lets you switch variants anytime.

Right away away from CIGs Vanguard Q&A: This will also prevent me from purchasing one.

Honestly, if the vanguard catches the retaliator off guard with concentrated shots and its powerful weapon, success is likely. But in a drawn-out conflict, the retaliator holds an edge in sustained firepower, while the vanguard still carries lighter armor; however, several sections remain intact rather than fully layered, just providing backup. The outcome hinges on the crew's expertise.

Tali isn't designed to build larger vessels, and if they did, my coin would be on the Vanguard.

Ben addressed this in RtV. It seems there are two options—one stronger and one more agile. I’d align with him, noting it depends on the crew.
