No logical reason to get 7 over 8.1. 8.1 is just a better built OS.
I’ll find the most affordable option before Windows 10 arrives. Between the 8.1 versions, it’s still around 7, but it boots significantly quicker. The Metro/start screen isn’t as terrible as some say.
Yes, you can adjust the settings to avoid displaying the metro screen.
It’s more affordable and both will be updated to Windows 10 within two weeks.
You can easily place frequently used items on the desktop or pin them, and some apps manage to restore the start menu to the corner. I don’t understand why, but I’m willing to give it a shot. The transition to Metro is smooth and doesn’t slow down the system as much as I feared. You can organize files and scroll through more options just like in a web browser, making it simple to learn. However, if it remains extremely annoying, there are alternatives available.
I thought I read somewhere Windows 10 is getting rid of the metro screen is that true?
It will be included in the updated start menu, though the complete start screen remains available this time.
