Hi, I'm planning to purchase a Windows 10 Home copy and noticed it's available at places like Best Buy and Amazon. I'm considering buying from the Microsoft Store, specifically the USB drive edition, but I want to confirm if they offer a retail version of Windows 10 Home. The website doesn't explicitly mention it being a retail product, so I'm curious about that.

Free upgrades are no longer available. The previous choices were removed by the end of last year. Only devices that had an upgrade registration during the free upgrade window are valid. Yes. Microsoft doesn't sell OEM products directly to regular users. You'd have to be an affiliated partner who resells systems.

Option.1: Consider what @Alexsolo mentioned; it seems @LoGiCalDrm is right about the upgrade no longer being available for versions 7 or 8.1 (per Microsoft). I might be mistaken.
Option.2: Link provided points to a Windows 10 license key from eBay, possibly genuine but unverified. It appears questionable but consistent with my experience across multiple PCs. If unsure, watch the accompanying video.

It seems to be accurate according to what I found online. Officially, the long-term upgrade window has closed. This could be a short-term situation as well. I believe upgrading whenever possible is the better option than buying keys from grey markets. eBay appears to be misleading, especially with its broken policies and the fact that they won't assist if things go wrong.

You mentioned no assistance with eBay keys from others. It seems it might vary based on your circumstances.

It varies. Personally, I wouldn't purchase a key from eBay unless the price was extremely low so it didn't matter much. I've had issues before buying directly from individuals on forums—though I know someone who paid around £60/$90 for Office 2016 via eBay. They often wait until the refund window closes before getting the key, needing proof of purchase, etc. Ultimately, it's not the safest option in most cases, which is why I usually don't suggest it.
